Walter Williams writes the obituary of man-made global warming, connecting the dots. Don't forget the read the H.L. Mencken quote at the end.

It may very well be time to start considering the 1970s all over again with climate: the coming mini Ice Age. I should have stuck with that. Now I'd be looking like a genius.

JP of Warner, NH, has a great point in the Union Leader story about the gun-grabbers trying to get an ovary of steam going. He writes:

In other news, the FBI reports on average the nation experienced an almost 5% decrease in violent crime in the first half of 2009.

Also of note is the 30% increase in gun sales for the same period of time along with most states seeing a doubling of requests for Concealed Carry permits/licenses.

Gee, maybe it true that criminal are in fact afraid of law abiding citizens capable of defending themselves and that having more people in a position to defend themselves has a real effect on preventing crime....

Dave of Sandwich

We live in a Constitutional Republic not a Democracy.

The US Constitution and each of the State Constitutions are devoid of the mention of Democracy.

This is important because we are a nation of Laws...a Republic

We are NOT a Democracy governed by the principle of 50% +1 (Mob Rule).

The founders that wrote the US Constitution and State Constitutions were keenly aware of the short and violent natures of Democracies and took great pains to avoid one.
