On the National Geographic channel, sponsored by the Heritage Foundation, is a show (an introduction for it on 33-minutes.com) on the dangers the U.S. faces over the possibility of a nuclear device being detonated over the atmosphere, creating an electro-magnetic pulse (EMP) that could send us back into the nineteenth century in an instant. A re-airing is scheduled for tomorrow night.
