I didn't watch what most are calling an insipid, uninspiring national broadcast last night that has even his most ardent supporters criticizing the Community Organizer. Or the Celtics. I probably didn't miss much on both accounts.
But the point used by the President to attempt to elicit Western Guilt last night and helpfully brought up at Posse Incitatus has in fact been used quite a lot over the years. Not with a lot of thought, I should think.
While it's true we use 20 percent of the world's energy while constituting merely two percent of the world's population, Mr. President, you left out one very important additional piece of information: we produce over 20 percent of the world's GNP.
So I'd say we're putting that energy production to good use. Very good use, Mr. President.
Though I can't vouch for Mr. Gore's Brobdingnagian energy use.
